Little free library jackpot 🪙! Somebody is going to love finding The Candid Life of Meena Dave in my LFL 😄. I enjoyed this one! It was a light read with some real depth of characters and feelings. These kinds of books always seem to get a little too cute towards the end, and this one did too...but I expect that now and just enjoy them anyway 🤷‍♀️. Did you read this one? Thoughts?

In other news, my LFL now has bookmarks, pencils, patriotic erasers, and temporary tattoos 🤩. It's so fun to delight some kiddos!

We are currently at the cabin on Lake Superior! We've been working here for the week, but tomorrow my husband and I are both off work to take our daughter up to Grand Marais. We're kind of thankful for "nature's AC" (Lake Superior)...the highs for the next 3 days there are in the 60s! And it's getting hot everywhere else in the state. So although we won't be wading in the lake, it'll be beautiful for walking around. Hopefully our next trip up will feature reading in the hammock 😊.

Is it getting hot where you are? Do you love the heat or not so much? I'm in the not so much camp, hence living in Minnesota 😄

I interrupt our normal feed of nice book pictures to tell you two BIG things!

1. I made a very extensive list of the best books set in Ireland. I dare you to scroll through without expanding your TBR by at least 5. Link in bio.

2. See that pretty purple mauve color? I'm excited to tell you that LQ glowed up today 🤩 and that's our new logo color! I loved that sweet pastel pink when I created LQ back in 2016, but my tastes have changed over the last 6 years. So, it was time! You'll now find the mauve color, plus a darker blue and a lighter blue for accents on the site. I hope you like it as much as I do 😊.

Thanks for being here with us on this wild book blog ride!

The Physicists' Daughter was published this week, and my fellow WWII fiction lovers will love the intriguing home front tale! Strong female characters anchor this mystery story and remind us of the strength of women working together. - Becky

Synopsis

Justine is proud to be an outsider, raised by her late physicist parents to think outside the box. She’s a welder and a scientist at heart, even if right now all she can do is work in a monotonous assembly line at an Allied factory in New Orleans – until mysterious, frequent machinery failures put the lives of her coworkers and the entire war effort at risk. Justine doesn’t know what she helps construct in that factory. She doesn’t know who can be trusted, including her unpleasant boss, her colleagues, and the two charming men vying for her attention. But she does know she must expose and thwart the Axis saboteur to prove her worth, honor her parents’ legacies…and save her country.
